The overall purpose of Shining Light Ranch is to encourage children to identify their unique gifts, so they can learn to feel good about themselves. Based on the theory of multiple intelligences developed by Dr. Howard Gardner, sessions will provide the opportunity to utilize different aspects of each intelligence to help children understand how they are smart.
What are the Intelligence Types?
In many schools, grades are largely determined by word and number smarts. Children that excel in other intelligences often struggle with confidence, motivation, and achievement.
Shining Light Ranch was founded to enable discovery and validation of other intelligences by providing a safe and welcoming environment where children/youth can grow in confidence through interactions with horses.
